Greens On The Arts at Spark Contemporary Art Space

Learn about the Green Party's platform on the arts, discuss how the planks relate in Syracuse, and meet the candidates.

Soulful Syracuse poet Carey On will be joining Andrea BuckvoldMacsen Rutledge and Frank Raymond Cetera in presenting a piece of spoken word poetry as one of our discussion interludes today. Please join us at 4 pm. Light refreshments will be provided. We have one more open interlude spot available for someone who would like to share their work as part of our discussion, get in touch.

"Freedom of artistic expression is a fundamental right and a key element in empowering communities, and in moving us toward sustainability and respect for diversity. Artists can create in ways that foster healthy, non-alienating relationships between people and their daily environments, communities, and the Earth. This can include both artists whose themes advocate compassion, nurturance, or cooperation; and artists whose creations unmask the often-obscure connections between various forms of violence, domination, and oppression"
